Kate Johnson, DPM

Dr. Kate Johnson completed her undergraduate work in Cellular, Molecular and Developmental Biology at the University of Washington in Seattle. She began her medical studies at William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois and during this time received two Distinguished Scholar Scholarships. Dr. Johnson then relocated to Phoenix, Arizona to complete a three year surgical residency at Valleywise Health of Creighton University. She is board certified with the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. She currently works at A Step Ahead Foot and Ankle Center in Loveland, Fort Collins and Cheyenne, and strives to provide inclusive and personalized treatment for a wide variety of foot and ankle problems. The thing Dr. Johnson enjoys most about being a podiatrist are the relationships that develop over time treating her patients. 

Outside of medicine, Dr. Johnson loves traveling and exploring the outdoors. She spends much of her free time cooking, gardening, mounting biking, river rafting and camping with her husband, two boys and dog Jasper.

Robert C. Schulte, DPM

Dr. Robert Schulte is a Colorado native who grew up on the eastern plains of Colorado in a small ranching and farming community. He stayed in Colorado and completed his undergraduate work at Colorado State University. He graduated from Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois in 1993. Dr. Schulte then completed a two year surgical residency at Loretto Hospital and Hugar Surgery Center in Chicago.

Dr. Schulte is a member of the Colorado Podiatric Medical Association and the American Podiatric Medical Association. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a Fellow in the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Dr. Schulte enjoys golf, skiing, hiking and various other outdoor activities.

Jeffrey Lehrman, DPM

Dr. Lehrman, recently named one of America’s Most Influential Podiatrists by Podiatry Management magazine, graduated from the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in 2001 and went on to complete and three year surgical residency in Chester, PA. Dr Lehrman has continued his professional development beyond schooling and residency, having completed training in hyperbaric medicine and other techniques throughout his career. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, Fellow of the American Society of Podiatric Surgeons, and is recognized as a “Master” by the American Professional Wound Care Association. Dr Lehrman has a role in training future podiatrists as an adjunct clinical professor at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Lehrman is also on the editorial advisory board of the journal WOUNDS and is a consulting editor for Podiatry Management magazine.

Jared Overman, DPM

Dr. Jared Overman was born and raised in Iowa and completed his undergraduate education at the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Biology. He went on to attend medical school at Des Moines University in Des Moines Iowa. After graduation he completed a 3-year surgical residency at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Chicago. During residency training he worked closely with Dr. Edgardo Rodriguez, a specialist in the treatment of complex foot and ankle deformities. After completing his residency Dr. Overman was selected for a surgical fellowship with Dr. Rodriguez at the Chicago Lower Extremity Deformity Correction Center. During this 12-month fellowship he received in depth training in adult and pediatric deformity correction, treatment of chronic limb pain, and management of lower extremity nerve injury.

After completion of fellowship training, Dr. Overman accepted a position in Fort Collins and has been practicing in Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming ever since. He continues his professional interest in deformity correction and treatment of peripheral nerve conditions/injuries. Outside of work he enjoys fly-fishing and playing guitar. He and his wife Courtney have two children and can usually be found out and about enjoying the Colorado weather and all that Fort Collins has to offer. He looks forward to having you as a patient
