Achilles Tendinitis
The Achilles tendon connects your calf muscles to the foot and is used during activities like running and jumping. When this large tendon becomes inflamed due to overuse, it’s called Achilles tendinitis. The symptoms of this foot injury include pain along the back of the foot and ankle, stiffness when getting out of bed in the morning, swelling, and tenderness.

Plantar Fasciitis
At the bottom of your foot is a thick band of tissue called the plantar fascia. When you become overactive or take part in repetitive activities that strain this tissue, it can lead to pain and inflammation. This foot injury is known as plantar fasciitis, and it can cause severe foot and ankle pain. Other symptoms to look out for include foot cramping, inflammation, burning sensations in the foot, or feeling like there are sharp objects under the foot when you walk.

Ankle Sprains
It’s hard to be an athlete and not eventually sprain your ankle! When you twist or turn your foot suddenly, it can strain or tear the ligaments that support your ankle and foot. Symptoms of this foot injury include swelling, bruising, pain when applying pressure to the foot and ankle, and an inability to put any weight on the foot. If you’re experiencing any of these issues, especially for an extended period of time contact our specialists.

Heel Spur
When the foot and ankle are overworked, it can lead to heel spurs. This foot injury is caused by calcium deposits on the underside of your foot near your heel bone (calcaneus). Symptoms of this foot injury include pain when walking, tenderness in the foot or ankle, swelling in the foot and ankle, and visible bumps on the foot’s surface.
